Hey all,

A popular way of saying cheers here is wishing you “A long life, a wet mouth and death in Ireland”. I’ll take the first two but as a visitor here I’ll have to pass on the last
I’ve been out of commission for the greater part of the last two weeks as I’ve living the (mostly) good life across Germany, Italy and now Ireland, but I just wanted to let you all know that I’m still alive and well
I will be without internet access for some large part of the next two weeks but I am working on getting my belated review of The Expendables 2 up, so you can expect that within the next few days. To be fair, it wasn’t released in Ireland until this weekend so for my neck of the woods it is still very much a new release.
Three things about Irish Movie theaters I found interesting:
1. They serve Beer, Wine and hard alcohol at the concessions area. Makes sense, no?
2. They only show about 4 trailers and the rest of the time is usually taken up by commercials (nooooooooooo!)
3. They don’t get a lot of movies until waaaaaayyy after they are released in the US (The Three Stooges just came out here)
4. Every now and then they dub english movies over with an Irish Accent. I saw a trailer for Total Recall (which comes out here today) and apparently it wasn’t enough to just have Colin Farrell, every single character was given a beautiful Irish Brogue.

Glad you’re having fun in Ireland. And Happy Birthday!!
Happy Birthday! I’ve heard of dubbing in other languages, but not English to Irish. It would be interesting to hear a movie like this.
